SARASOTA, January 1st, 2021

The Pickleball Club, with headquarters in Sarasota, is proud to announce that it will be the lead sponsor of the APP Masters Pickleball Tournament held in Punta Gorda, Florida from January 7th – 10th, 2020.   The Pickleball Club is in the process of building luxury indoor pickleball facilities throughout Florida and beyond to fulfill the unmet demand of the 3.4 million pickleball players for climate-controlled club-based facilities.

According to The Pickleball Club CEO and Sarasota resident, Rear Admiral Brian McCarthy, USN(Ret), “We could think of no better event to announce our developments in the Florida market than the APP Tournament being held in Punta Gorda in January.  Pickleball has become one of the most popular sports in Florida and throughout the entire nation.  Locally, people are frustrated.  Rain, wind, and heat disrupt outdoor play at least one-third of the time.  Long wait times are now routine.  The Pickleball Club will fix all that.    Our facilities will provide ideal playing conditions every time and will feature competition-grade outdoor surfaces that are far superior to any flooring available for indoor play today, and better than what most outdoor courts offer.  We cannot guarantee players will win every point, but we can ensure that our members and guests will have ideal conditions while trying to do so.

The Pickleball Club is developing two facilities in Sarasota, Florida.  The first of which will be in the Lakewood Ranch area and the second will be part of the redevelopment of the Bath and Racquet Club.

Admiral McCarthy continued, “Our Lakewood Ranch location, slated to open in the fall of 2021, will immediately transform the pickleball community in the Greater Sarasota market.  For the first time, people will be able to reserve court time and be guaranteed the opportunity to play.  Our 34,000 square foot facility will have 12 indoor and 3 outdoor courts, an observation deck, a café, a shop, and ample seating, immediately making it the largest indoor facility dedicated to Pickleball in the nation".

According to Destin Wells of the Sarasota Economic Development Corporation (EDC), “We are thrilled to have The Pickleball Club open its first locations in Sarasota.”  Shelby Connett, of Visit Sarasota, commented, “We believe that The Pickleball Club facilities can help draw enthusiasts from all over the nation and we look forward to partnering with them to promote their tournaments and Pickleball Academies.”

As part of its growth and development plan, The Pickleball Club has created its ‘Be a Part of the Future of Florida Pickleball’ campaign in which the local community will have the opportunity to invest in The Pickleball Club’s facilities.  The investments are open only to accredited investors.  Interested parties should contact the company at info@thepickleballclub.us
